Ears

Well we have just got through Hannah having a very nasty ear infection that in combination with Kit being off colour meant that today was only the 2nd time in 6 weeks that Hannah has been able to go to her swimming lesson. She also had at least a week off school in the midst of it all...so how do you pass the time when your children aren't 'firing on the eight'? We baked....lemon themed things because Hannah loves lemon - so lemon curd and lemon teacake...
and encouraged little brat to rest up...
and enjoy the presents Grandpa (who everyone is missing) sent....
and then in the recuperation phase... I kept Hannah home from a school friend's party - and got her working in the kitchen so that she didn't mind that Kit got to go without her. Not sure why but Hannah decided a game of 'doctors' was in order - hence the 'sore arm' bandaged with one of her father's ties. At least the headband is a good addition for the kitchen.

Cooking is usually a family event - everyone chips in in some way...here Hannah gets some help from Phil in chopping up chocolate for her no-bake cheesecake.

A feast just in time for afternoon tea the next day which happened to coincide with mother's day... which we celebrated with Nan and Pop and Aunty kath...

For my Mum: Mum you are always with us in our hearts and thoughts. I long to be able to hear your voice and hold you close, still. I want to chat with you about anything and everything. To see the pride in your eyes as you watch your 'twinnies' grow. And I miss you.
